Am I the only one who faithfully put our my green bin yesterday and didn't get it emptied?

On our fridge door we have the council's list of collection dates for green bins and orange bags. Now the weekly refuge rota isn't the most important thing on my mind and so I look at this list each week and decide which type of recyclable rubbish to put out. So on Sunday night I looked for 30th April and it's coloured green - so out goes the green bin.

Monday evening I come to put our green bin back in it's home and it's still full. What on earth could have happened?

Well it seems that our beloved council can't quite work a calender properly. You see they'd run out of lines for the month of April and so (as is actually quite common) they put the 30th, which is a Sunday, back at the top. However, the top line is coloured green but only because week commencing 26th March is green.

 Of course,  they should have had 30th April on it's own line, which, following on from a green week beginning 23rd April, should have been orange.

 Well great, because our council can't actually construct their leaflets properly I'm going to have to stock pile my orange rubbish for 4 weeks. The Steptoe signs are going up now.
