Minutes of 7th September Planning Committee Print E-mail
 Equ1. MEMBERS PRESENT
Cllr. Mrs Whitmore (Chairman), Cllr. Bates, Cllr. Bryans, Cllr. Dix, Cllr. Worth and two members of the public.  The Clerk Mrs Maddison was in attendance.

2. TO RECEIVE APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE FROM MEETING
Cllrs. Mrs Browning and Mrs Landmann.

3. DECLARATIONS OF CLLRS. PREJUDICIAL OR PERSONAL INTERESTS IN THE BUSINESS HEREUNDER
Cllr. Bates declared and personal and prejudicial interest in the public enquiry on 19th and 20th September 2006.

4. OPEN FORUM FOR MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC TO SPEAK
The Chairman read out a letter received from Mr and Mrs Banks from Barn Cottage regarding application No. 06/02098/FUL.  Mr and Mrs Banks felt that the proposed erection of the garage and games room at the front of this property would be detrimental to the amount of light to their property.  Also they were concerned with the possible noise from the games room.

5. PLANNING APPLICATIONS FOR DISCUSSION
06/02098/FUL – Single storey side extension and canopy over living room window to front.  Alterations to roof to form new bedroom in attic.  Replace existing garage and games room with new garage and games room including storage room over in new location to front of property at White Cottage, Keysoe Row West – Cllrs. Bates and Cllr. Dix went to visit the property and that of Mr and Mrs Banks property on the opposite side of the road.  Whilst they didn’t have any concerns regarding the modification to the roof line or the extension of the single storey building to the rear of the property, they did have grave concerns regarding the proposed garage/games room.  This would greatly impede on the light of Barn Cottage (opposite) and is also a big imposing structure.  However, it was felt it could be improved if it was turned 90 degrees.  It was resolved to oppose this part of the application and support the other parts.

A public enquiry will be held on the 19th and 20th September at Town Hall, Bedford regarding appeals to Planning Application Nos. 05/01425/lbc, 05/01427/ful, 05/01446/lbc, 05/03010/lbc, 05/03011/lbc, 06/01221/ful, 06/01222/ful – Cllr. Bates was excluded from the discussions.  It was agreed unanimously that Cllr. Worth would attend the hearing and speak on behalf of the Parish Council.  The Parish Council is in favour of all the planning applications.

6. PLANNING APPLICATION DECISIONS FOR INFORMATION ONLY
