Playing Field Declared Open! |

After many, many years of persistence, Janet Brownings efforts to create a playing area for the children of Keysoe finally paid off. The official opening of the village Playing Field took place on 24th September 2006 and many from the village turned out to enjoy the afternoon and all of the activities that have been organised.

Despite some very ominous looking weather earlier in the day, the official opening of Keysoe's Playing Field was a big hit with the crowds and even the sun made an appearance to ensure that all of the organised activities could be enjoyed to the maximum.

One event that took on a particularly competitive streak was the brick lift - clearly something that captured the imagination of the men folk of Keysoe and Bolnhurst, who were keen not to be outdone by one another. Clearly they had all watch "The World's Strongest Man" on the TV and new how to raise the stakes for the watching crowd.
The brick lift Another event that seemed popular, although perhaps a little more light-hearted than the brick lift, was the wellie wanging. After a number of attempts to get their eye in, several of our residents showed that they did indeed have what it takes to "put the boot in" as it were.
Some of the "boys" entering the football tornament clearly took the game serious, turning out in matching strip, whilst the treausre hunt demonstrated that it was not just the physical challenges in which our villagers excell.
