Among items discussed at the meeting on 15th September, 2003 were: Dog Waste The dog waste bin is to be moved; from the entrance to the White Horse to just into Row East. Noticeboards Keysoe’s parish noticeboard is situated at the entrance to Kymbrook School. Bolnhurst think that they should also have one and this has been agreed. The cost will be approximately £350. Now Brook End want one as well possibly to be situated near the bus shelter. Also, Parish Council news will be displayed in the White Horse. Affordable Housing The Borough Council have “mislaid” our plans for affordable housing and a replacement set will now be sent by Jefferson Housing. Kymbrook Playgroup The Playgroup has been awarded a Rural Grant of £150. Equestrian Centre A whole raft of questions are to be put to Bedfordshire County Council, on various subjects including Vehicular Movements - can these be restricted to certain numbers at defined time? Is planning permission needed for carriage events? Has the Centre been used for more days than the plans allow for? These and many other questions have been sent to Bedfordshire County Council, as well as notes on all the previous planning applications (over 30), along with the Parish Council’s views and comments. We await advice on these questions before deciding how we should continue. Foot/Cycle Path In view of the greatly increased traffic, is it possible to have a foot/cycle path along the length of Church Road in Keysoe? There is a wide verge here and plenty of room for one. Could we also have a continuation of the path from Brook End to Kymbrook School on to Bolnhurst? The Highways Department will be contacted.
Whilst on the subject of paths, it has been reported that horse riders have been using the paths - please notice that these are for walkers and cyclists only. Speed Checks A series of speed checks have taken place and seventeen motorists have been caught speeding. Water Many of us have had problems recently with little or no water coming out of our taps. Complaints have been made to Anglian Water and some of their responses have not been satisfactory. The Parish Council is now writing for clarification and demanding improved services. |
