Among items discussed were at the Keysoe & Bolnhurst Parish Council meeting in April 2003 were:

Housing Survey
A survey was carried out by Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity, who advised that 3 houses should be built. The Parish Council accept the recommendations but asked if extra housing could be added. Things have now moved on and it seems that upto 6 possible sites have been proposed for the development. The Parish Council will now meet with the BRCC to discuss the proposed sites and also to see if any are large enough to accommodate a small playing field.

Dog Fouling
Over the years there have been various complaints about dog fouling in the Parish. 3 dog waste bins have been purchased from Bedfordshire County Council who will erect and service them. They will be sited at Keysoe crossroads, Riseley Road junction and School Lane junction, Bolnhurst. The Parish Council asked everyone that they be used.

Bolnhurst and Keysoe Churches
It was agreed to donate £150 each towards the upkeep of the churchyards.

Skate Park
We have been offered a skateboard ramp for a week during the summer holidays. We hope to have it sited in the Village Hall car park. It will be erected by the Police.

War Memorial
This has now been cleaned and is in pristine condition.

Bicycle Stands
Bicycle stands are being made available for rural areas. The Village Hall Committee are to be asked if they would like one. The stands are provided free of charge.

Courses for Parish Clerks
Our Parish Clerk, Joy Maddison, will be attending the Parish Clerk’s course in May. Your Parish Council may also consider applying for Quality Status!

Annual Parish Meeting
The Parish Council spends many hours during the year in trying to carry out ideas and suggestions which they hope will make the Parish a better place to live in. Their continued liaison with other local authorities is a time-consuming affair, but does bring results and benefits to us all in the end. About 30 members of the public came along to the Annual Parish Meeting in March to show their support for the Parish Council, and this is much appreciated.
