On 10th October, 2002 the Planning Inspectorate upheld the appeal by Sedgemoor College against the condition of a six-month trial period imposed by Bedfordshire Planning Committee in December 2001. Sedgemoor College may now house and educate four children at Elm Farm once they have their Certificate of Education. A large majority of Keysoe Row East Residents, plus a fair number from other parts of Keysoe, have been expressing misgivings as to the suitability of Elm Farm becoming a private institution for young people with behavioural problems since Sedgemoor College first came on the scene in August 2001. It would seem that the powers that be have discounted the real concerns of Keysoe residents, the Parish Council and the Bedford Planning Committee, which is very disappointing. There appears to be no other viable avenues open for residents to object. |
